W.E.B. Du Bois Institute for Afro-American Research: Home page of the nation's oldest research center dedicated to the study of the history, culture and social institutions of African Americans.
Center for Afroamerican and African Studies at the University of Michigan: Conducts interdisciplinary programs in the comparative study of people of African descent living in Africa and the Americas.
Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture: National research library devoted to collecting, preserving and providing access to research documenting the experiences of people of African descent throughout the world. This site has an excellent online multimedia sampler and list of web resources.
African-American Mosaic: A Library of Congress Resource Guide for the Study of Black History and Culture: Online guide to the library's African-American collections.
Black Film Center/Archive: Repository of films and related materials by and about African-Americans at Indiana University.
Archives of African American Music and Culture: Music and cultural resources available at Indiana University.
The Faces of Science: African Americans in the Sciences: An exhibit at the Louisiana State University Library that provides an extensive listing of prominent African American scientists with excellent, brief biographies. Notable for its inclusion of women and the first African Americans to earn doctorates in these disciplines.
