Livonia native Taylor Adkins (pictured) has signed to play soccer at Madonna this upcoming fall.

LIVONIA, Mich. Head women’s soccer coach Paul Thomas announced that he has signed Livonia Stevenson product Taylor Adkins to a letter of intent. Adkins - who is the third student-athlete Thomas has inked for the 2008 season - will continue her athletic and academic career at Madonna starting this fall.

“Taylor is a very technical player and strikes the ball well,” commented Thomas. “She is good on set pieces and is very good in the air, which is a huge asset in the women’s game at the collegiate level. She is a strong, aggressive player who can play in the midfield or out of the back and will be a huge asset as we move forward.”

Adkins earned two letters for the Spartans on the pitch. She helped her squad to a division and city championship as a sophomore. The 5-5 midfielder has been even more successful on the club soccer scene playing for the Livonia United ’91 A team.

While with the ’91 side, she has captured five division I championships and been to the State Cup finals three times, coming home a winner on two of those trips.

Adkins  joins Woodhaven standout Nicole Rodriguez and fellow Livonia native Jessica Austin as the start of Thomas' recruiting class.
