BOX SCORE

Columbia, Mo. – The Madonna volleyball team used double-digit kill performances from Lubovj Tihomirova (16) and Mary McGinnis (15) and a career high seven from Amanda Lenart to sweep Olivet Nazarene 3-0 (30-26, 30-27, 30-26) and advance out of pool play and into the round of 10 at the 2007 NAIA Volleyball Championship.

Game one saw the Crusaders swing at just a .133 clip as the two sides battled back and forth before MU used steady serving from Amy Szymanski and Jacqui Gatt to seal away the game.

The second game saw MU and ONU trade the lead six different times and saw five ties as MU used 20 kills against just seven errors in the three point win.

The final game of the match was almost a mirror image of the opener as the two teams traded points, before solid serving iced the game and the match for MU.

With its 2-1 pool play record, the Crusaders move into the play-in portion of the tournament as MU's pool was predetermined to have to participate in the play in to advance into the quarterfinals.

In the round of 10, MU faces off with the University of Texas at Brownsville, a program that is just in its second season as a NAIA member. The Scorpions advanced to the national tournament after winning their region. First serve is set for 10:30am central time, 11:30am in Livonia.

Play-by-play coverage will be available on the Crusader Radio Network with Patrick Moore bringing you all the action live from courtside. Pre-game coverage starts at 11:20am with the match to follow.
