-- The Madonna men's soccer team fell to Cornerstone 2-1 in the WHAC
Tournament championship game on Saturday afternoon in Grand Rapids.
Cornerstone scored the first two goals of the match before the
Crusaders picked up a goal from Darrel
Quinn (Fowlerville, Mich./Fowlerville HS) off an
assist from Doron Drai (Kfar-Yona,
Israel) in the 54th minute of play.
Madonna was limited to only nine total shots, including four on
goal along with four corner kicks. Cornerstone posted 15 total
shots with eight on target and three corner kicks.
Madonna will advance as the number two seed from the WHAC in next
week's NAIA Region VIII Tournament. The Crusaders will play on
Wednesday, Nov. 8, but their opponent is still yet to be determined.
