GRAND
RAPIDS, Mich..
-- The Madonna men's soccer team dropped a 5-1 decision to Aquinas
on Wednesday afternoon.
The Crusaders could score only one goal against the Saints in the
regular season finale as
Derrick Mudri
(Fowlerville, Mich./Fowlerville HS) scored off an assist from
John McIntyre
(Dearborn Heights, Mich./U of D Jesuit HS) in the 19th minute
which tied the game at 1-1.
Aquinas would then tack on four unanswered goals, including two
penalty kick scores, to put away the Crusaders.
Even with the loss, Madonna was able to hang onto the number two
seed in the upcoming WHAC Tournament, securing a first round bye
after Siena Heights lost to Davenport this afternoon.
The Crusaders will host the winner of a WHAC Tournament quarterfinal
contest on Wednesday, Nov. 1 at 2:00 p.m. (ET).
