Doron Drai and the
Crusaders were defeated 1-0 by Siena Heights on Wednesday. |
CANTON, Mich..
-- The Madonna men's soccer team dropped a 1-0 decision to Siena
Heights on Wednesday afternoon in muddy field conditions at Canton
High School.
The Crusaders controlled the tempo for most of the contest, yet
allowed a goal in the 76th minute of play and were unable to
recover.
Siena Heights' Joel Parrish scored at the 75:10 mark of the second
half after a failed clearance at the top of the 18-yard box by the
Crusaders. Parrish needed only one touch after receiving the
ball before finding the back of the net past Crusaders' goal keeper
Kristofer Lyons
(Walled Lake, Mich./Walled Lake Central HS).
Lyons would record two saves as the Saints were only allowed eight
total shots, including three on target.
Madonna posted a total of 14 shots, including six on net along with
six corner kicks.
With the loss, Madonna falls to third place in the current WHAC
standings with less than a week to play in the regular season.
Madonna will return to action on Monday, Oct. 23 as the Crusaders
will host Concordia at 4:00 p.m. at Greenmead Field.
