BOX SCORE

SAN DIEGO, Calif. - - The Madonna men’s soccer team improved to 2-0 on the young season with a 2-1 come from behind win over MidAmerica Nazarene on Saturday at Point Loma Nazarene.

MidAmerica got an early lead thanks to a Jon Lemon conversion of a penalty kick after a Madonna foul inside the 18-yard line at the 9:16 mark of the match.

Madonna tied the match at 1-1 with an Emilio Giorgi score in the 15th minute as Giorgi took feeds from Doron Drai and Daniel Amaya and found the back of the net to square the match at one.

Drai set up the game winner for MU in the 70th minute as he found newcomer Corbin Titus who beat the MANU keeper Matt Gow for the deciding score.

Much like Friday’s match, Saturday’s became physical with five cards handed out.

The Crusaders will take Sunday off and close out their trip to the West Coast on Monday with a 1pm match against Bellevue. The match will be played at Point Loma.
