Lewis, Lyons Take Home WHAC Awards
Selections mark the fourth week in a row that Crusaders garner conference honors

Senior Kris Lyons was named the WHAC Defensive Player of the Week on Oct. 15, after leading MU to a pair of wins last week.

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich.. – For the fourth week in a row, the Madonna men's soccer team swept the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference weekly awards as this time it was freshman forward Makesi Lewis garnering Offensive Player of the Week accolades and senior goalie Kris Lyons taking home Defensive Player of the Weeks honors.

Lewis tallied a pair of goals, including the game winner against Aquinas. He also scored in MU's 4-0 win over Indiana Tech. The win over Tech clinched the WHAC Regular Season Championship. This is the second week that Lewis has been selected as the WHAC winner.

Lyons posted a shutout in the Crusaders' 4-0 win over Indiana Tech. He also made three saves against Aquinas on Tuesday.

Madonna closes the regular season on Tuesday at Siena Heights in a 4pm match.
