Head coach Chuck
Henry saw his MU squad fall by a 95-81 final to Indiana Tech on
Saturday. |
FORT WAYNE, Ind.
-- The
Madonna University men's basketball team could not overcome a
14-point halftime deficit and fell 95-81 at Indiana Tech on Saturday
(Jan. 5) in the WHAC opener for both schools.
MU's Cedric
Sims (Canton, Mich.) led all scorers with 24 points
while Jon Battle (Cleveland, Ohio) and Charlie Henry
(Canton, Mich.) each added 17 for the Crusaders.
Tech shot
50 percent from the floor in the first half to just 25 percent shooting for MU
and that proved to be the difference in the game as the lead Tech had built in
the opening 20 minutes was the final margin of victory for the Warriors.
MU and Tech
each scored 54 points in the second half as Madonna cut the IIT lead to just
eight with 17:35 left, but could not get any closer, trailing by as many as 26
late in the contest.
Anthony
Jones and Anthony Jones each scored 18 for the Warriors.
Madonna
looks to rebound and pull its WHAC record to .500 when it hosts Aquinas on
Wednesday night inside the Activities Center in a 7:30 pm tip-off.
