Kendallville, Ind. - -
Steve South shot a
one-under 70 to lead the field at the opening WHAC Jamboree of the Fall season
on Tuesday at the Noble Hawk Golf Links in Kendallville Ind. As a team Madonna
shot a 302 and tied Cornerstone for second. Defending WHAC champion Davenport
won the event with a total of 290.
"There
were two great individual efforts today by Steve and Brett Quitiquit," commented
head coach Steve Mato. "We know we can play better as a team, but to come in
second to Davenport this early in the season is not a bad spot to be in."
Quitiquit
shot an even par round of 72 while Austin Stillman was the third Crusader to
break 80, carding a round of 78. Kyle Lawrey shot 82 while Matt Robinson and
Nick Sears shot 83 and 85 respectively.
The
Crusaders swing back into action on Saturday (Sept. 13) at WHAC Jamboree Two,
hosted by Siena Heights at the Tecumseh Country Club.
