Inks Third Signee In Allen

LIVONIA, Mich. - -Head
men’s basketball coach Chuck Henry announced the latest addition to his
2008 recruiting class as Kirtland Community College product Leroy Allen
has signed a letter of intent to continue his academic and athletic careers at
Madonna University starting this fall.
“Leroy brings
experience to our roster after two years at Kirtland," said Henry. "He has
proven he can play on the collegiate level and will help us in our quest to
capture the WHAC championship and advance to the National Tournament."
The 6-8 Allen (Detroit,
Mich.) has spent the last two seasons at Kirtland CC in Roscommon, Mich. Under
the guidance of coach Ty McGregor, Allen averaged nearly a double-double with
9.51 points and 9.44 rebounds per game as a sophomore. He also averaged 1.1
steals and 1.4 assists per game for the Firebirds at the forward position.
A 2006 graduate
of Henry Ford Academy, Allen is the third student-athlete to sign with the
Crusaders, joining Jon Jaciuk and Kevin Henry.
