LIVONIA - The Madonna women's soccer team used five first-half goals to cruise to a 6-0 WHAC win Tuesday over Concordia to close out the regular season.  The game marked the final home appearance for lone senior Danielle Strickland who notched two assists in the victory.

Madonna got the scoring started early when Liz DiPonio found the net off a feed by Lacey Catarino and Strickland.  Less than two-minutes later, Liz Slebodnik scored her sixth goal of the season again from Catarino.  Laurie Strnad then capped a frantic five-minute period with her the third goal of the game.

Madonna reserve goal keeper and defender Kristen Datte then netted back-to-back goals, the first two of her career to put the game out of reach and eventually send it to a 6-0 final.

With the win, Madonna closes the regular season at 10-4-3 overall, 8-0-2 in WHAC play.

The Crusaders will now rest and await their WHAC playoff opponent.  Madonna will host the WHAC semi-finals beginning Saturday.  Game time and opponent will be announced as soon as the information becomes available.
