Liz Slebodnik posted her first career hat trick Saturday in Madonna's conference title clinching victory over Indiana Tech.
 


Crusader Women Clinch 5th Straight Title

LIVONIA - The Madonna women's soccer team defeated Indiana Tech Saturday 5-0 for their fifth straight WHAC championship.

Freshman Liz Slebodnik posted her first career hat trick and fifth goal of the season against Tech to help propel the Crusaders to victory.

Slebodnik got things started a minute into the first half from Liz DiPonio to stake Madonna to a 1-0 lead.  Katie Kirn was next to score, her second of the season off a cross by Jenny Aldea to put MU up by two.

Slebodnik then notched the next two goals one unassisted and the third off a Lacy Catarino assist.

Kristen Balogh capped the scoring with her first career goal from Laurie Strnad to give MU the win and the conference title.

With the victory, the Crusaders improve to 7-0-2 in conference play and earn the right to host the at least the WHAC semi-final next Saturday.  Game time and opponent are TBA.
