Caitlin Boyak netted the game winner for MU in a 5-1 win over Concordia on Saturday.

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- Two goals by senior Kelly Japowicz (Harper Woods, Mich./Grosse Pointe North HS) led the Madonna women's soccer team to a 5-1 win over Concordia on Saturday afternoon at Rummel Field in Ann Arbor.

Concordia (6-8-0) scored the first goal of the match just 47 seconds into the first period when Megan Romer assisted Casey Hoover, giving the Cardinals a 1-0 lead.

Madonna (9-3-2) would score the next five goals of the game, including the Crusaders first goal by Japowicz in an unassisted effort at the 23:37 mark of the first half.  Sophomore
Caitlin Boyak (Livonia, Mich./Stevenson HS) netted the game winner after finding the back of the net off a corner kick assist from senior Katie Kramer (Highland, Mich./Milford HS) at the 29:29 mark of the first half.

Japowicz would cap off her scoring on the day with another unassisted goal at the 48:18 mark in the second half.

Sophomore forward
Dina Allie (Livonia, Mich./Stevenson HS) buried the Crusaders' fourth goal of the game after cleaning up a loose ball in front of the Cardinals' net.

Freshman
Alana Lavery (Livonia, Mich./Stevenson HS) headed in the final goal for Madonna off a pass from senior Diane Foley (Taylor, Mich./Riverview Gabriel Richard HS).

Junior goal keeper
Traci Anderson (Brighton, Mich./Brighton HS) posted four saves in net for Madonna, securing the Crusaders seventh conference win.

Madonna posted 14 shots, including eight on goal with one corner kick.  The Cardinals recorded eight total shots, including five on goal and two corner kicks.  The Crusaders were charged with 16 fouls, while Concordia recorded only eight.

The 21st-ranked Crusaders remain in a first place tie in the WHAC standings with Cornerstone after both teams picked up wins this afternoon.  Madonna will return to action on Tuesday in a 4:00 p.m. (ET) start at Grand Rapids against Aquinas.
