Freshman
Kaila Moore
(Howell, MI/Howell HS) scored the game winning goal in
Madonna’s 1-0 win against Aquinas College on Saturday afternoon at
Greenmead Field.
Moore scored at the 52:22
mark in the second half after a pass from
Dina Allie
(Livonia, MI/Stevenson HS) found its way through the box and Moore buried
the ball into the back of the net. The second half goal was Moore’s second of
the season and only shot recorded on the day.
Madonna kept the offensive
pressure on Aquinas throughout the match as it finished with 18 total shots,
including eight shots on goal, and two corner kicks. The Crusaders were paced
offensively by
Kelly Japowicz's
(Harper Woods, MI/Grosse Pointe North HS) five shots, including three on
net. Allie added four shots for MU, including one on goal.
Junior goalkeeper
Traci Anderson
(Brighton, MI/Brighton HS) saved four shots and recorded her fourth
shutout of the season.
The Crusaders look to
extend their unbeaten streak to six games when they host Indiana Tech on
Tuesday, September 19, at Greenmead Field.
