GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. -- The Madonna University women's soccer team recorded a 1-1 double overtime draw with Cornerstone University on a rainy Saturday afternoon in Grand Rapids.

The No. 12 ranked Crusaders received a goal from Kelly Japowicz (Harper Woods, MI/Grosse Pointe North HS) at the 41:23 mark of the first half.  Japowicz scored her sixth goal of the season off an assist from Loren Tacconelli to give MU the 1-0 lead before the half.

Cornerstone would tie the game in the 63rd minute as Amber Bloem picked up her second goal this season on an unassisted effort to knot the game at 1-1.

Neither team could find the back of the net and played the final 47 minutes even and recorded a draw.

Madonna moves to 3-2-2 overall and will return to action on Tuesday, September 12, as the Crusaders host Concordia University at 4:00 p.m. (ET) at Greenmead Field.
