LIVONIA, MI. -  The Madonna women's soccer team opened the 2005 regular season with a 0-0 tie against #11 Houghton (NY) Thursday (Aug. 25) at Greenmead Field.

The Highlanders, playing their second game in as many days fall to 1-0-1 while Madonna opens the year 0-0-1.

Madonna mustered seven shots in the double-overtime game to Houghton's 13.  The best scoring chance for Madonna came in the second half when freshman Caitlin Boyak (Livonia, MI./Stevenson) found herself one-on-one with Highlander net-minder Meghan Radimer who made an impressive stop to preserve the tie.

The Crusaders are back in action Saturday when they travel to Columbia, Kentucky to battle
