LIVONIA, Mich. - - Madonna
women’s soccer coach Paul Thomas announced today that he has signed
Brittany DeRupa to a letter of intent. DeRupa (Trenton, Mich.) will
continue her academic and athletic careers at Madonna University
starting this fall.
“Brittany
is a great addition to our program,” said Thomas following the signing. “She
will fit in well with our program and is the kind of student-athlete we are
looking for in the Crusader program. Our staff looks forward to working with her
this fall on the field.”
DeRupa is
in her fourth year on the varsity squad at Trenton High School. She was named
team most valuable player last season after being named the team’s most improved
player as a sophomore. DeRupa has also been a two-time all-league selection and
is serving as a team captain on the pitch this season. She is also a standout on
the hardwood, earning all-league honors as a sophomore, junior and senior and
was selected the basketball team’s MVP this season. The 5-10 midfielder plans to
study education at Madonna.
Last season
MU advanced to the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference semi-finals for the
second straight season.
