Allie Zemaitis (pictured) has signed a letter of intent to play soccer at Madonna this fall.

LIVONIA, Mich. Head women’s soccer coach Paul Thomas announced that he has signed Allie Zemaitis to a letter of intent. Zemaitis (Highland, Mich.) will continue her academic and athletic careers at Madonna starting this fall.

"Allie is a very aggressive and strong player," commented Thomas. "She will play out of the back, either centrally or out wide. She comes into the program with a good pedigree, having played at a high level with her Livonia United team. She reads the game very well and has good overall defensive qualities. She will be an impact player for us this season and will compete for playing time as a freshman."

As a junior at Milford last season, Zemaitis was named honorable mention all-state to go along with an all-district and all-region selection after leading Milford in assists and total points. She was also selected to the Observer and Eccentric Newspaper's all-area team. During her sophomore season, the 5-5 midfielder was an all-conference selection while leading the Mustangs in goals and picked up the first of two "Best Midfielder" awards.

Zemaitis is also a stand out with her Livonia United '91 club team and has played for former MU coach Rick Larson during her time with United. She has been part of a pair of State Cup finalist teams and captured the 2005 State Cup Championship. Her United side has won five straight Michigan Premier Division I Championships (2003-2007).

A selection to Top Drawer Soccer's "Players to Watch" list in the class of 2008, Zemaitis is also active off the pitch, serving as the head coach of the U6 rec team in the Hartland Soccer Club as well as volunteering at the Livonia Soccer Club and Milford High School soccer camps.

Zemaitis joins her Livonia United teammate Taylor Adkins along with Jessica Austin, Nicole Rodriguez and Britt Warner as new student-athletes in the Crusader soccer program.
