CEDARVILLE, Ohio -- The Madonna women's basketball team dropped their second consecutive game as 13th-ranked Bryan (TN) defeated MU, 69-55, on Saturday afternoon in the consolation game at the Cedarville Invitational Tournament.

The Crusaders were led by

Junior forward
Martina Franklin (Redford, Mich./Redford Union HS) recorded 10 points and a team high 10 rebounds, while junior guard Lauhnna Waybrant (Ortonville, Mich./Brandon HS) tallied 10 points and six rebounds for MU.

Madonna led by as much as seven points in the first half, but the Lions battled back to take a 37-32 lead at halftime.  The Crusaders would get as close as two points in the second half despite shooting only 28% from the field before Bryan pulled away for the 14-point victory.

The Lions shot 47% from beyond the three-point line, including a 53% performance from beyond the arc in the second half.

Madonna's offensive rebounding woes on Friday night versus Indiana Wesleyan were overcome with 16 boards on the offensive end of the court against Bryan.

The Crusaders fall to 1-2 on the young season with both losses coming to ranked opponents.  Madonna will return to action on Wednesday, Nov. 8 in a 6:00 p.m. (ET) non-conference tilt with former WHAC foe Spring Arbor in the Activities Center.
