Martina Franklin

LIVONIA, Mich. -- Madonna University junior forward Martina Franklin (Redford, Mich./Redford Union HS) was named to the 2007 NAIA Division II women's basketball All-America team in a statement released by the NAIA today (March 14,2007).

Franklin helped guide the Crusaders to a 15-18 overall record this season and a trip to the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) tournament championship game.

A first-team all-conference selection, Franklin averaged a team-high 17.9 points and 9.3 rebounds per game.

She was also the team leader in blocked shots with 31 and became the school's career leader in blocks along the way.

Franklin also surpassed the 1,000 career-point mark in an 84-70 loss at Concordia February 17th.  She became just the eighth women's basketball player in Madonna history to reach the feat.

Franklin is one of six WHAC players on the NAIA All-America squad for 2007, led by first-team selection Jeanette Woodberry of Davenport University.
