Mich./Waterford Mott HS) each recorded double-doubles to lead
Madonna to a 72-56 win over Concordia Wednesday night at the
Activities Center.
Franklin scored a game high 17 points and collected 10 rebounds,
while Carrico had 12 points and 10 boards. Franklin also added
five blocked shots and four steals in the winning effort.
Madonna (8-14; 3-4 WHAC) led 34-32 at halftime after a late surge by
Concordia (4-17; 1-6 WHAC) but managed to outscore the Cardinals
38-24 in the second half.
Stephanie Piotrowski
(Petersburg, Mich./Ida HS) added 11 points and
Cali Crawford
(Rochester, Mich./Oakland Christian
Academy) and
Caryn Inman
(Oxford, Mich./Oxford HS) each
recorded 10 points for the Crusaders.
As a team, Madonna shot 47-percent (27-of-57) from the floor and
outrebounded Concordia 42-33.
Madonna returns to action Thursday (Jan. 25) in a 7:00 p.m. ET tip
off at Urbana in a game rescheduled from earlier in the season.
