LIVONIA, Mich.
-- The Madonna women's basketball team was defeated 75-63 by Aquinas
Wednesday night at the Activities Center.
Freshman Joslyn Narber racked up 27 points, seven rebounds and six
assists in the Saints win.
The Crusaders were led by
Lindsay Klemmer's
(Plymouth, Mich./Plymouth Salem HS) 16 point, six rebounds
and four steals in the loss.
Junior forward
Martina Franklin
(Redford, Mich./Redford Union HS) returned from a seven-game
lay off and scored 14 points while grabbing eight rebounds.
Sophomore
Alyssa Guerin
(Plymouth, Mich./Plymouth Salem HS) pulled down a game high
12 rebounds for Madonna.
Madonna trailed 40-35 at the half and Aquinas outscored the
Crusaders 35-28 in the second half en route to the 12-point win.
The Crusaders shot only 32-percent from the field, including
36-percent from beyond the arc. Aquinas shot 40-percent from
both the field and behind the three-point line in the victory.
The Crusaders return to action on Saturday, Jan. 13 in a
doubleheader with the men's team. Both teams will host
Michigan-Dearborn with the women taking the court first for a 1:00
p.m. ET tip.
