FORT WAYNE, Ind.
-- The Madonna women's basketball team picked up their first
conference win of the season after defeating Indiana Tech 76-71 on
Saturday.
Madonna received career highs from
Lindsay Klemmer
(Plymouth, Mich./Plymouth Salem HS) and
Stephanie Piotrowski
(Petersburg, Mich./Ida HS) who scored 26 and 24 points
respectively.
Sophomore forward
Christie Carrico
(Waterford, Mich./Waterford Mott HS) posted a double-double
with 10 points and 10 rebounds for MU. Sophomore
Alyssa Guerin
(Plymouth, Mich./Plymouth Salem HS) added 13 points in the
win for the Crusaders.
The Crusaders shot 52% (22-of-57) from the floor, including 39%
(12-of-23) from beyond the arc. Madonna limited Indiana Tech
to shoot only 38% (27-of-72) from the field, and just 10% (2-for-20)
from behind the three-point line.
The Crusaders will return to action on Wednesday, Jan. 10 in a WHAC
contest against Aquinas at 7:30 p.m. ET in the Activities Center.
