DETROIT, Mich. -- Alyssa Guerin scored 17 points and was joined in double-figures by Caryn Inman (12) and Christie Carrico (10) for Madonna but it was not enough as Wayne State downed the visiting Crusaders 90-52 inside the Matthaei Center Saturday afternoon.

With the loss, the Crusaders are now 1-4 on the season and have dropped four straight games while the Warriors improved to 2-1 overall.

MU scored the game's opening basket on a layup by Carrico just 30 seconds in but did not see a lead again until 11:43 remained in the opening half as the two sides traded baskets in a half that saw three ties and three lead changes.

The Madonna lead at 16-13 was short lived as Wayne State came back to take the lead and extend it to as many as 12 heading into the intermission with a 40-29 lead.

MU shot 39 percent in the opening half, just one point lower than the Warriors who hit at a 40 percent clip.

Coming out of the break it was all Warriors as WSU opened the half on a 13-3 run in the first six minutes to open up the lead to 23 points at 55-32.

Wayne State continued the offensive pressure and held a 40 point lead at 75-35 with 8:33 left in the game. The Warriors shot just under 57 percent in the second half compared to just 28 percent for the Crusaders and took advantage of 12 Madonna second half turnovers to take the game by the 90-52 final.

The Crusaders will now have two weeks off before taking to the court in a 1:00pm tip-off at Goshen (Ind.) College on Dec. 8.
