KANSAS CITY, Mo. - - The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) released its 2008 Daktronics All-American Scholar Athlete award winners following the National Championship game and a pair of Madonna University women's basketball players were tabbed to the list. Caryn Inman (Oxford, Mich.) and Becca Rufli (Linden, Mich.) were the Crusaders honored for their efforts off the court.

Both student-athletes were honored by the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) as members of the academic all-conference team. To be selected to the NAIA squad, a student-athlete must have a 3.50 grade point average and be a junior or senior in academic standing.

Rufli, a television-video communications major, ended the season with a 6.5 points per game average to go along with a 1.9 rebound per night average, both doubling her season totals from a year ago.

This marks Inman's second selection to the squad for basketball, repeating her nod from last year. Inman was also selected to the AASA team in volleyball as well. The 6-1 senior was named to the all-WHAC first team after leading Madonna with a 13.3 points per game and 7.3 rebounds per game average this season.

The Crusaders ended the season at 14-17 and appeared in the WHAC championship game for the second straight season and the third time in the last four seasons.
