Advance With Win Over Olivet Nazarene
The Madonna volleyball team
wrapped up pool play in the 2007 NAIA National
Championship with a 30 (30-26, 30-27, 30-26)
sweep of Olivet Nazarene on Thursday. With the
win MU advances to the round of 10 and will face
off with the University of Texas at Brownsville
at 11:30am (EST) on Friday with the winner
advancing to the quarterfinals.

National Summit
Tihomirova Sets Single Season Kills Record
The Madonna volleyball team
got off on the right foot in pool play with a
3-2 (27-30, 30-24, 30-27, 28-30, 15-11) win over
Mount Vernon Nazarene on Wednesday morning.
Match number two of the day was not as
successful for the Blue and Gold as MU fell 3-0
to #3 Concordia (Calif.) Lubovj Tihomiova
(pictured) led MU in kills in both matches and
became the new single season kills record
holder, eclipsing the mark established in 1995
by Kelly McCausland.

by defeating Cornerstone 3-0. MU will now host

Win Over Tech

took five games, three of which went beyond the
30-point thresh hold, but the top-seeded Madonna
volleyball team hung on and downed Indiana Tech

Friday night in Dearborn. MU advances to
Saturday's finals against Cornerstone, who upset
UM-Dearborn in four games earlier Friday.

Volleyball Starts Recruiting
Class With Martin
Head volleyball coach Jerry Abraham announced
today that the MU program has signed Marie
Martin, a 6-1 middle hitter, to a letter of
intent. Martin, who will join a program that has
won 11 straight conference titles, will enroll
at Madonna in the fall and begin her collegiate

For the second straight week, the
Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Confernce honored
MU's Inta Grinvalds (pictured) and Lubovj
Tihomirova as the league's Setter and Player of
the Week respectively. The duo helped the
Crusaders go 2-0 last week and claim the
program's 11th straight WHAC title. This is the
second honor for Grinvalds this season while it
is the fourth in a row and fifth this season for
Tihomirova.

Volleyball Closes Regular Season
With Sweep
The
Madonna volleyball team closed out the 2007
regular season Thursday night with a 3-0 win at
Warner Southern in Lake Wales, Fla. MU, the 2007
WHAC regular season champion, wrapped up the
regular season at 29-10 and will host the WHAC
tournament next Friday and Saturday.
