(Calif.) before finally overpowering the Cougars, 30-26, 28-30, 30-27,
30-24. Natalja Tinina and Laura Lesko paced the Crusader offense with 23 and
20 kills respectively. Ashley Frost (top) added 61assists in the win.
With the victory, Madonna moves to 47-0 overall and 3-0 in pool play with
one game left, a match up tomorrow afternoon with National American (S.D.) A
win in that match would seal MU's berth in the Elite Eight.

Madonna senior outside hitter
Natalja Tinina was named a second team Academic All-American by the College
Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) in a statement released
today. The Riga, Latvia native became the school's career kills leader
and was the WHAC and Region VIII
player of the year, while guiding the Crusaders to a perfect 46-0 record.

Cylinders in Second Win of the Day
The Madonna volleyball team ran
their season record to 46-0 and 2-0 at the 2005 National Championships with
a 30-12, 30-26, 30-20 win over the Savannah (GA) Art & Design Bees. Four
Crusaders hit double figures in kills, led by Laura Lesko's 15. Ashley Frost
posted 46 assists. Natalja Tinina, who posted 11 kills in the match,
became Madonna's career kills leader, surpassing the late Julie Martin
with her 2,860th career kill.

overcame numerous unforced errors and the stellar play of IU-Southeast
junior Jennifer Mobbs in a 30-18, 34-32, 30-25 opening match win Tuesday.
Natalja Tinina posted a team high 18 kills and Ashley Frost added 46 assists
in the win, the first in pool play at the 2005 NAIA National Championships.
Madonna improves to 45-0 overall while IU-Southeast falls to 32-6. The
Crusaders will continue their pool play schedule with a 10:30 pm (ET) match

An undefeated season thus far has
garnered the Madonna volleyball team the #3 overall seed at the 2005 NAIA
National Championships in San Diego, California. The Crusaders (44-0),
who advanced via their regional championship victory, are the top-seed in
pool C. Joining MU are previously undefeated National American (S.D.),
Azusa Pacific (Calif.), Savannah Art & Design (Ga.) and the opening
match opponent Indiana-Southeast.

Automatic
Nationals Bid with Win
The Madonna volleyball team is headed
back to San Diego after their Region VIII championship game win over Cornerstone
Saturday night. Natalja Tinina, who was named Region Player of the
Year after the match paced the Crusader offense with 26 kills. All-Region
selection Laura Lesko posted 15 kills and Region Setter of the Year, Ashley
Frost contributed 42 assists. Madonna fired on all cylinders in the match
including a 16-0 run to start game two, which they led at one point 21-1.
The Crusaders will await the seeding of the 2005 National Championships held
Nov. 30-Dec. 3 at Point Loma Nazarene University.

Siena Heights
The No. 4 Madonna volleyball team
took just over an hour to defeat WHAC foe Siena heights University Tuesday night
for their 32nd straight victory dating back to the 2004 season. Natalja Tinina
paced the offensive attack with 24 kills while Laura Lesko added nine and Ashley
Frost posted 35 assists. With the win, MU improves to 31-0 and 8-0 in
conference play.

Sweep at Concordia
The No. 4 Madonna volleyball team
ran their season record to 30-0 and 7-0 in WHAC play with a three game sweep at
Concordia Friday night. The Crusaders had to play much of the match
without Player-of-the-Year candidate Natalja Tinina who left early in game two
with a back problem. Fellow Latvian Lubovj Tihomirova (top) picked up the
slack with a career-high 8 kills in the win. Ashley Frost continued her

Tie Best Start Ever
The No. 4 Madonna volleyball team ran
their season record to 23-0 with a four game victory over #21 Cornerstone 30-16,
27-30, 30-21, 30-19 Tuesday night. Freshman Kelsey Mack recorded 24 kills
and Caryn Inman added 17 while Ashley Frost posted 65 assists in the win.
With the victory, the Crusaders tie the 2003 Elite Eight Crusaders for the best
start in school history.

Crusaders Bash the
Beach with Tournament Win at PBAU
The one-two punch of Natalja
Tinina and Ashley Frost was too much for the competition at the Pepsi Bash at
the Beach as both earned All-Tournament honors on their way to five three-game
wins Friday and Saturday. The Crusaders disposed of Embry Riddle and
host Palm Beach Atlantic Saturday to claim their fourth tournament title of the
season. Frost was named tournament MVP for her efforts.

Player of the Week
Madonna senior outside hitter
Natalja Tinina was named the NAIA National volleyball Player-of-the-Week for
September 14th in a statement released today. Tinina, a native of
Riga, Latvia, led her team to a perfect 4-0 record on the week, averaging
6.25 kills per game with a total of 75 in 12games played. The senior
outsider hitter posted two 20-plus kill matches and finished with a .421
hitting percentage. She also recorded 32 digs (2.67 per game) along with
three aces.

Bird Title With Win Over #8 Georgetown
The
Madonna volleyball team is off to another solid start, taking home the 2005
UM-Dearborn Early Bird Invitational championship with a pair of wins Saturday.
In game one the Crusaders took care of Tiffin in three straight games (30-30-16,
30-20, 30-17) then held off #8 Georgetown (30-23, 24-30, 30-27, 30-26).
Senior Natalja Tinina posted 32 kills in the win over Georgetown on her way to
All-Tournament honors along with teammate Laura Lesko (19 kills).
