Tihomirova leads MU attack with 44 kills in two matches; Gatt posts 50 digs

Amanda Lenart posted a career high four kills and three blocks in MU's win over Northwood on Friday afternoon.

WEST PALM BEACH, FLA. The 18th-ranked Madonna volleyball team opened play at the Palm Beach Atlantic Sailfish Classic with a 3-0  win over Northwood (FL) in the day's first match and closed the night with a 3-1 win over Embry Riddle. Senior Jacqui Gatt  posted 50 digs in the two matches.  

Lubovj Tihomirova led MU with 23 kills while Whitney Fuelling added 12 of her own and Jacqui Gatt posted 30 digs in the win over Northwood

The Crusaders continued play with the night's last match, this time facing off with Embry Riddle. MU  came out of the night cap with a 3-1 win.

Madonna took game one 30-18 before dropping game two 30-22. The Crusaders rebounded to take the next two games by finals of 30-23 and 30-25.

MU's all-American Tihomirova continued her assault on the national leader board, posting 21 kills. Joining Tihomirova in double digits kills was Whitney Fuelling with 17 along with Mary McGinnis and Stephanie Parslow who had 11 each.

The Crusaders return to the court on Saturday morning at 11am.
