MU Starts Great Falls Tourney With a Pair of 3-0 Wins

GREAT FALLS, Mont. -- The No. 5 ranked MU volleyball team continued its winning ways, all the way into Montana, with a 3-0 (30-17, 30-24, 30-23) win over Montana State-Northern at the University of Great Falls Tournament on Friday evening.

Senior middle hitter Caryn Inman (Oxford, MI/Oxford HS) led the Crusaders with 16 kills in the win over MSU-Northern. 

Freshman setter Natalie Niblock (White Pigeon, MI/White Pigeon HS) posted a career high with 42 assists to lead the Crusaders attack.

Earlier in the day, Madonna picked up a 3-0 (30-28, 30-25, 30-24) victory over the University of Great Falls.

 Inman (Oxford, MI/Oxford HS) paced the victors with 12 kills while Whitney Fuelling (Highland, MI/Western Michigan) and Lubovj Tihomirova (Riga, Latvia/Rigas Classic HS) added 10 and eight respectively.

Freshman setter Inta Grinvalds (Portage, MI/Portage Central HS) added 37 assists in game one of the pool play tournament.

With the wins, Madonna improves to 7-0 on the season heading into a rematch from last year's NAIA National Tournament against #4 National American at 11:00 a.m. (ET) at the Great Falls tournament.
