Volleyball Conquers Concordia in Three Games to Cap WHAC

LIVONIA, Mich. -- In its last regular season conference game of the year, the Madonna Crusaders volleyball team breezed through another set of games for the 3-0 match win, capping their regular season undefeated run and extending their WHAC regular season win streak to 25.

In the game one 30-16 victory, the Crusaders had no problem adjusting to Concordia’s slower pace and scrappy style. Junior Tera Morrill (Westland, Mich./Livonia Franklin) slammed down a pair of service aces in the game, while sophomore Natalja Tininia (Riga Latvia/Purvciems) had one. Tininia and junior Sharyse Bush (Flint, Mich./Central) also had four kills apiece in the game.

The Crusaders were able to keep on a roll through game two.

In game three after getting another cushioned lead, sophomore Ashley Frost (Lake Odessa, Mich./Lakewood) took on more of a back-row role for the Crusaders, allowing freshmen Heather Spooner (Woodhaven, Mich./Woodhaven) and Becci Crane (Burton, Mich./Atherton) get some rotations in as setters. The Cardinals, playing with only six players, couldn't muster enough of a comeback in the third game after Madonna allowed them to sneak back into the contest.  The Crusaders went back to their dominant hitting duo of Tinina and Bush, rolling to the 30-18 win.

The Crusaders will host their last regular season game in a non-conference match vs. Saginaw Valley State Thursday night.  The game marks the last home game for senior Amanda Suder with the match beginning at 7:00 p.m.
