Kansas City, Mo. – The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) announced on Wednesday that Madonna senior designated player Christina Finch (Albion, Mich.) has been selected to the 2008 Daktronics All-American Scholar Athlete team.

To be selected for this honor, a student-athlete must posses a 3.50 or higher cumulative grade point average and be a junior or senior in academic standing at his/her institution of higher learning.

Finch was one of Madonna's top performers this season, posting a .319 average in 50 games. Finch was second on the team with three home runs and posted 22 runs batted in. Her numbers with runners in scoring position were also impressive, as the psychology major hit .303 and advanced runners that were on base in 45 percent of her chances.

The Crusaders graduated just two seniors - Finch and pitcher Liz Ballinger - from a squad that went 37-14-1 and captured both the WHAC regular season and tournament championships and advanced to the regional finals for the second straight season.
