A quartet of Madonna softball players were named to the 2007 Daktronics
All-America Scholar Athlete team by the National Association of Intercollegiate
Athletics (NAIA) in a statement released today.
Juniors Liz Ballinger, Christina Finch and
Stephanie Day as well as senior Shannon Noder were all honored for their
achievements off the field of play after carrying a 3.5 cumulative grade point
average or higher during the 2007 season.
Ballinger, a Mathematics/Education major from
St. John's, Michigan and Noder, a Criminal Justice major from Lincoln Park,
Michigan were the mainstays in the circle for the Crusaders this season.
Day and Finch were key members of the MU
offense that helped propel the Crusaders to their first ever WHAC tournament
championships and berth in the NAIA Region VIII championship game for the second
straight season.
Day is a Fire Science and Mathematics major
from Livonia while Finch is studying Psychology and hails from Adrian, Michigan.
