LIVONIA, Mich. -- Alison Grant (Carleton, Mich./Airport HS) swatted a two-run homer in the first inning to give Madonna a 3-0 lead in the opening contest as the Crusaders (24-11, 9-3 WHAC) went on to sweep visiting Siena Heights, 5-1 and 9-3, Saturday afternoon.

Shannon Noder (Lincoln Park, Mich./Lincoln Park HS) earned her 12th win of the season in game one after scattering six hits and allowing a single run in the second inning, while striking out seven.

The Saints (18-21, 3-9 WHAC) scored their only run of the contest in the second inning as Jessica Singletary hit a solo home run off Noder.

Hannah Godfrey (Waterford, Mich./Waterford Mott HS) and Caitlyn Sidor (Livonia, Mich./Churchill HS) each recorded two hits in the contest to pace the Crusaders at the plate.

In the second game of the day, the Crusaders jumped out to a 4-1 lead before Siena Heights put up two runs in the fourth inning on MU starter Liz Ballinger (St. Johns, Mich./St. Johns HS).

The Crusaders would add a couple runs of their own in the bottom of the fourth inning to push the lead back to three runs (6-3).

Ballinger pitched two two batters in the fifth inning, but after allowing a single by Kina Williams, MU head coach Al White called in Noder to pitch.

Noder got out of the inning without allowing any runs and Madonna scored two more in the bottom of the fifth inning to increase their lead to 8-3.

The Crusaders would add a final run in the sixth inning before Noder pitched a scoreless seventh to pick up her first save of the season.

Ballinger picked up her 12th win of the season after working 4.1 innings and allowing three runs on six hits and striking out four.

Mary Kate Setta (Chelsea, Mich./Chelsea HS) led the way at the plate for Madonna in game two with a pair of hits and a stolen base.

The Crusaders will return to action Sunday, April 22 in a league doubleheader against Aquinas at 1:00 p.m.  Madonna will also celebrate Senior Day between the two games, honoring Noder -- the lone senior on the squad this season.
