LIVONIA, Mich.
-- The Madonna men's soccer team dropped a home WHAC match to
Cornerstone 3-0 on Thursday afternoon at Bicentennial Park.
Cornerstone scored two goals in the first 14 minutes of the first
half and added another score off an own goal by Madonna in the
second half to secure the 3-0 win.

Ryan Mathe
(Ypsilanti, Mich./Ypsilanti HS) recorded four saves and
allowed three goals in net for Madonna.
The Crusaders were out shot by the Golden Eagles, 16-7, including
four shots on target for Madonna. Madonna was charged with 20
fouls, including one yellow card and Cornerstone received 26 fouls
and two yellow cards.
With the win, Cornerstone takes sole possession of first place in
the WHAC standings, while Madonna falls to third place.
The Crusaders will return to the pitch on Saturday, October 7, in a
2:30 p.m. (ET) kick off at Rummel Field in Ann Arbor against
Concordia.
