ADRIAN, Mich.
-- The Madonna men's soccer team won in convincing fashion on
Saturday afternoon in a 6-1 decision over Siena Heights.
Junior
Darrel Quinn
(Fowlerville, MI/Fowlerville HS) scored at the 12:03 mark in the
first half to give Madonna a 1-0 lead that lasted into the second
half.
Freshman midfielder Emilio Giorgi
(Windsor, ON/Kennedy Collegiate HS) scored his first career
goal and posted the game winner at the 52:16 mark in the second half
off an assist from senior
John McIntyre
(Dearborn Heights, MI/U of D Jesuit HS).
Six minutes later, Quinn netted the Crusaders third
goal, his second of the game, in the 59th minute.
Siena Heights would score a goal in the 67th minute of play, but the
Crusaders answered with three more goals, including a penalty kick
score by McIntyre.
Madonna posted 18 total shots, including
11 on target with six corner kicks.
Siena Heights recorded only
eight total shots, including
five on net along with
one
corner kick.
The Madonna
men's soccer team will return to action on Saturday, Sept.
30, as the Crusaders travel to
Grand Rapids and look to even the season series against Davenport at 2:30 p.m. (ET).
