Doron Drai netted two goals and added two assists in MU's 4-0 win on Saturday afternoon.

LIVONIA, Mich. -- The Madonna men's soccer team soundly defeated the Aquinas Saints, 4-0, Saturday afternoon at Greenmead Field.

With the win, the Crusaders improved to 3-1-2 overall and 1-1-1 in league play. 

Sophomore Doron Drai (Kfar-Yona, Israel) and senior Pat Griffin (Redford, MI/Catholic Central HS) each netted a pair of goals in the win against Aquinas.  Griffin also added one assist and Drai recorded two assists.

Drai scored his first goal at the 16:27 mark in the first half off an assist by Griffin. 

Griffin added two more first half goals in the 30th minute and the 43rd minute to give MU a 3-0 lead at the half.

Drai would cap off the Crusaders scoring with a penalty kick goal at the 58:34 mark in the second half.

Junior goal keeper Kristofer Lyons (Walled Lake, MI/Walled Lake Central HS) recorded three saves in net for the Crusaders and posted his first clean sheet of the season.

Madonna posted 16 total shots, including six on target with two corner kicks.  Aquinas recorded only nine total shots, including three on net along with four corner kicks.  The Crusaders were charged with 15 fouls, while the Saints picked up 10 fouls and two yellow cards.

The Madonna soccer team will next be in action on Wednesday, Sept. 20, as the Crusaders play host to the Indiana Tech Warriors at 4 p.m. at Greenmead Field.
