Goshen Sends MU to Consolation Game

HOLLAND, Mich. -- The Madonna men's basketball team dropped the opening game of the Holland Sentinel Community Tournament after Goshen handed the Crusaders an 83-64 loss on Friday evening.

Friday's loss for the Crusaders is the second this season at the hands of Goshen in the opening round of a tournament.  The Maple Leafs picked up an opening round win against Madonna on Nov. 10 in Goshen, Indiana.

Mike Rashad (Inkster, Mich./Wayne Memorial HS) led the Crusaders with 23 points and seven rebounds in a losing effort.

Madonna shot only .338 (24-of-71) from the floor, including .269 (7-of-26) from beyond the three-point line.

The Crusaders will play in the consolation game on Saturday, Dec. 9 at 1:00 p.m. (ET) against Grace Bible, who dropped their opening game of the tournament to Hope, 88-63.
