D.J. Bridges posted 12 points and nine rebounds in 27 minutes of action on Wednesday night.

LIVONIA, Mich. -- Three Madonna players scored in double digits but the Crusaders came up short as Marygrove escaped with an 82-74 win at the Activities Center on Wednesday night.

Senior Adam Kerfoot (Gaylord, Mich./St. Mary HS) led MU with 18 points and eight assists and junior D.J. Bridges (Canton, Mich./Canton HS) posted 12 points and a team high nine rebounds.

Senior forward Mike Rashad (Inkster, Mich./Wayne Memorial HS) tallied 10 points and collected seven rebounds for Madonna in a losing effort.

Sophomore guard Drew Coker (Whitmore Lake, Mich./Whitmore Lake HS) had a career night with seven points on 3-of-7 shooting (1-of-5 3FG, 2-2 FT).

Marygrove guard Anthony Acho led all scorers with 25 points on the evening.

The Crusaders trailed by only four at the half after freshman Jordan Hoke (Grand Rapids, Mich./Byron Center HS) buried a 25-footer as time expired in the first period of play.

The lead would change hands four times in the second half, but the Mustangs pulled away after Curtis Leavy connected on a three-point play to give Marygrove the lead for good. 

The Mustangs would lead by as much as 12 points in the game and won the contest by an eight-point advantage (82-74).  Madonna was unable to secure a first half lead and could only muster a one-point lead on four separate occasions in the second half.

The Crusaders recorded a .366 (26-for-71) shooting percentage from the field in the game, but shot only .200 (6-for-30) from beyond the arc, including a 1-for-11 (.091) performance from three-point land in the first half.

Marygrove shot .424 (25-of-59) from the floor and posted a .958 shooting percentage from the charity stripe, missing only one free throw all game (23-of-24).

Madonna falls to 0-2 on the young season and Marygrove stays unbeaten with a 2-0 mark.  The Crusaders will return to action on Friday, Nov. 10 against Goshen at the McDonald's Maple City Hoopfest Tournament in Goshen, Indiana.  The Crusaders and the Maple Leafs are scheduled to tip off at 6:00 p.m. (ET)
