		Adam Kerfoot (#3) scored 10 points in the Crusaders season opener on Saturday.

SPRING ARBOR, Mich. -- The Madonna men's basketball team fell to Spring Arbor 84-47 in the season opener on Saturday in Spring Arbor.

Madonna, who was missing three key players on Saturday, shot just .264 (14-for-53) from the field and only .227 (5-for-22) from beyond the three-point line.

Senior forward Mike Rashad (Inkster, Mich./Wayne Memorial HS) paced MU with 11 points and senior guard Adam Kerfoot (Gaylord, Mich./St. Mary HS) chipped in 10 points in the losing effort.

Freshman Mike Williams (Dearborn, Mich./Fordson HS) posted seven points in his collegiate debut in 19 minutes of action.

Madonna will return to action on Wednesday, Nov. 8 against Marygrove at the Activites Center in the nightcap of a doubleheader with the MU women's basketball team.  The Crusaders and Mustangs are scheduled to tip off at 8:00 p.m.
