Henry and Six Players Earn All-WHAC Honors

D.J. Bridges led the team in scoring (20.2 points per game) this season.

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. -- Junior forward D.J. Bridges (Canton, Mich./Canton HS) was one of six Madonna men's basketball players to earn All-WHAC in a press release announced by the league office this afternoon.

Bridges, who was one of five players named First Team All-WHAC, ranked second in the conference in scoring (20.2 points per game) and fifth in rebounds (8.9 per game).  Bridges was also named conference Player of the Week three times this season.

Senior forward
Derrick Mudri (Fowlerville, Mich./Fowlerville HS) earned Second Team All-WHAC honors for the second straight season.  During his final year at Madonna, Mudri became the seventh player to eclipse the 1,000 career points mark and ranked second on the team in scoring (11.6 per game).

Senior guard
Adam Kerfoot (Gaylord, Mich./St. Mary HS) was named Third Team All-WHAC in his final year.  Kerfoot led the conference in assists (4.6 per game) and ranked third on the team in scoring (10.7 per game).

Junior forward
Mike Rashad (Inkster, Mich./Wayne Memorial HS) was named to the All-Defensive team.  Rashad was one of five players around the conference to earn the honor.

Sophomore guard
Drew Coker (Whitmore Lake, Mich./Whitmore Lake HS) was one of six players named to the conference Champions of Character team.  The squad is selected in order to
recognize individuals who display the NAIA Champions of Character values of respect, responsibility, integrity, servant leadership and sportsmanship.  Madonna head coach Chuck Henry was named WHAC Coach of Character by his peers.

Kerfoot and junior guard
Charlie Henry (Canton, Mich./Agape Christian Academy) were honored as members of the All-Academic team.  This award is bestowed upon juniors or seniors with a cumulative grade point average above 3.25 on a 4.0 scale.

On Thursday, Feb. 22, the Crusaders will be hosting their first playoff game in school history.  Fourth-seeded Madonna will host fifth-seeded Indiana Tech in a 7:30 p.m. tip off in the Activities Center.  The winner will move on to play the winner of the Cornerstone/Michigan-Dearborn match up on Saturday, Feb. 24.
