CALEDONIA, Mich. - Freshman guard Sai-Quan Griffith drove the length of the court and finished off the coast-to-coast drive with a last second lay up to give Davenport a 78-77 conference win over Madonna Saturday in Caledonia.

Senior guard Adam Kerfoot (Gaylord, Mich./St. Mary HS) missed the back end of a two-shot foul that allowed Griffith to drive the length of the court and finish a hero for the host Panthers.

Madonna led by as much as 12-points in the contest, but Davenport battled back late in the second half to force the Crusaders into a couple of costly turnovers and missed shots which shifted the momentum in favor of the Panthers.

Junior forward D.J. Bridges (Canton, Mich./Canton HS) led the Crusaders with 25 points.  Senior forward Derrick Mudri contributed 19 points off the bench in the losing effort for Madonna.

The Crusaders fall to 4-4 in league play and will travel to Fort Wayne, Indiana to take on Indiana Tech Wednesday, Jan. 31 at 7:30 p.m.
