FORT WAYNE,
Ind.
– Madonna’s finest
18-hole performance in school history culminated Saturday afternoon in a
one-under 299, as the Crusaders won the sixth WHAC Jamboree hosted by Indiana
Tech and contested at Cherry Hills Golf Club in Fort Wayne.
The Crusaders
took home the one shot win over 18th ranked Davenport, who fired a
300. MU was three shots ahead of third place Aquinas (+12, 302). The host
Warriors (+14, 315), Siena Heights (+38, 318), Cornerstone (+38, 326) and
Concordia (+67, 355) rounded out the field.
MU junior Steve
South shot his lowest round of the season, a one-under 71 to place second in the
field, just one stroke behind AQ’s Dan Szatkowski.
Senior Aaron
Cheeseman (+4, 76), junior Elliot Oscar (+5, 77) and freshman Austin Stillman
(+3, 75) all shot their best rounds of the season to place eighth, 10th
and fourth respectively.
Madonna returns
to action Sunday and Monday, taking part in the Motor City Invitational, hosted
by Wayne State.
