The Madonna men's and women's cross
country teams competed at the 2006 NAIA Region VIII Championships on
Saturday at Indiana Wesleyan.
Junior
Kirstian Tyler
(Livonia, Mich./Franklin HS) led the women's team with a 59th
place finish after crossing the line at 20:40. Freshman
Kaitlyn Carbary
(Fenton, Mich./Fenton HS) finished at the 21:22 mark and recorded
an 80th place finish, while freshman
Amanda Weaver
(Livonia, Mich./Home School) rounded out the Crusaders' finishers
with a 120th place finish at the 24:58 mark.
Sophomore
Joe Horka
(Westland, Mich./Churchill HS) paced the men's team for Madonna
with a 22nd place finish at the 26:13 mark.
Junior
Keith Hearns
(Livonia, Mich./Stevenson HS) finished 56th for Madonna after
crossing the line at the 27:32 mark. Freshman
Charles Wolfe
(Canton, Mich./Canton HS) ran a 27:44 and finished in 67th
place.
On the women's side, Siena Heights and Spring Arbor tied for the team
title and Aquinas took home the men's championship.
