SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- On the campus of Notre Dame, Madonna's Joe Horka (Westland, MI/Churchill HS) put together another strong race, finishing third out of 83 runners in the JV division of the 2006 National Catholic Cross Country Invitational.

Horka's time of 26:43 was just 47 seconds behind Notre Dame's Kevin Veselik who won the event.

MU's Keith Hearns (Livonia, MI/Stevenson HS) finished 29th with a time of 29:25 and Charles Wolfe (Canton, MI/Canton HS) placed 44th running at a 30:16 clip.

On the women's side, Kirstian Tyler (Livonia, MI/Franklin HS/Schoolcraft CC) was 39th and Amanda Weaver (Livonia, MI/Homeschool) 82nd with times of 23:02 and 27:47 respectively.

The Crusaders are back in action September 22nd, running in the Ferris State University Bulldog Invitational in Big Rapids, Michigan.  The meet begins at 4:00 pm.
