The Madonna men's and women's
cross country teams began the 2006 season by competing in the Running
Fit-Tommy Titan Invitational at Cass Benton Park in Northville on
Saturday.
Joe Horka led the Crusaders' men's team with a 13th place finish out of
88 runners and a time of 21:18 in the four mile course.
Keith Hearns and Charles Wolfe also ran for Madonna on Saturday,
finishing the course with times of 22:51 and 23:44 respectively.
Two runners competed for the MU women's team as Kaitlyn Carbary finished
the 5,000 meter course in a time of 20:36 and Kirstein Taylor crossed
the line at the 20:55 mark.
Both the men's and women's cross country teams will return to action on
Friday, September 15, at the National Catholic Championships at the
University of Notre Dame in South Bend, Indiana, beginning at 4:15 p.m.
