Ladywood's Bambach Signs For 2008
Livonia native is first signee for next season

Emily Bambach (pictured) is the first signee for the MU cross country program for the 2008 season.


LIVONIA, Mich. -- Head cross country coach Patrick Daugherty announced today that he has signed Emily Bambach (Livonia, Mich./Ladywood HS) to a letter of intent. Bambach, a Livonia Ladywood product, is the first signee for Daugherty for the upcoming 2008 season.

"Emily will be a great addition to our program this fall," said Daugherty after the signing. "She is an outstanding student-athlete and will certainly help us in our quest to capture a conference title."

Bambach has earned four letters in cross country at Ladywood in addition to three more on the track. She helped the Blazers to a pair of state finals appearances in cross country as a sophomore and junior and another in track as s sophomore.

As a sophomore, Bambach was named the cross country team's most improved runner after being named all-Catholic and followed that up by being selected as a scholar-athlete on the track. She picked up a second all-Catholic nod as well as the Athletic Director's award and another scholar athlete award as a junior.

Bambach plans to study forensic science at Madonna.
