Baseball Lands Eight Standout Signees For 2009

Head baseball coach Greg Haeger announced the signing of eight student-athletes to letters of intent to continue their athletic and academic careers starting this fall at Madonna University. The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) announced its baseball All-American teams today and three Crusaders were honored. Leading the way for MU was senior closer John McCracken who was tabbed to both the honorable mention All-America squad as well as the All-American Scholar Athlete team.

Baseball Season Ends In Regional At Huntington
The Madonna baseball team took on the host Huntington Foresters in an elimination game Friday night at the 2008 NAIA Region VIII Championship and fell by a final of 7-1. MU ends the season at 37-14 after capturing both the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference regular season and tournament championships and advancing to the Region VIII playoffs for the fifth straight season. MU’s 37 wins are the most since the 2005 squad posted 40 triumphs.. MORE

Bats Come Out In 9-3 Win Over Tech In Regional
Facing off for the ninth time this season, Madonna and Indiana Tech squared off in a win-or-go home game at the NAIA Regional in Huntington, Ind. Crusaders Sweep Weekly WHAC Baseball Awards
The Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference office announced on Monday that Madonna teammates Jeff Sonnenberg and Kevin Zerbo had swept the WHAC’s Pitcher and Player of the Week awards respectively. This is the first selection for Sonnenberg and the second for Zerbo this season.  Sonnenberg was also named NAIA Region VIII Pitcher of the Week in a statement released Tuesday.   MORE
