Baseball Season Ends In Regional At Huntington
The Madonna baseball team took on the host
Huntington Foresters in an elimination game
Friday night at the 2008 NAIA Region VIII
Championship and fell by a final of 7-1. MU ends
the season at 37-14 after capturing both the
Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference regular
season and tournament championships and
advancing to the Region VIII playoffs for the
fifth straight season. MU’s 37 wins are the most
since the 2005 squad posted 40 triumphs..

Come Out In 9-3 Win Over Tech In Regional
Facing off for the ninth time this season,
Madonna and Indiana Tech squared off in a
win-or-go home game at the NAIA Regional in
Huntington, Ind. MU used home runs from Scott

to down the Warriors 9-3 and stay alive. Madonna
faces the loser of Spring Arbor and Huntington
at 7pm tonight.

Madonna junior Jeff Sonnenberg picked up
his third award of the week on Wednesday as the
NAIA national office announced that he was
selected the National Pitcher of the Week for

named the WHAC and Region VIII Pitcher of the
Week on Monday and Tuesday respectively.

Crusaders Sweep Weekly WHAC Baseball Awards
The Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference office
announced on Monday that Madonna teammates
Jeff Sonnenberg and Kevin Zerbo had
swept the WHAC’s Pitcher and Player of the Week
awards respectively. This is the first selection
for Sonnenberg and the second for Zerbo this
season. Sonnenberg was also named NAIA
Region VIII Pitcher of the Week in a statement
released Tuesday.
