Crusaders Split Day on in Arizona Versus Malone

Rikco Rhoades posted a 2-3 game with a RBI in the nightcap win Saturday.


 

LIVONIA, Mich. The MU baseball team moved to 3-1 on the season after splitting a pair of games versus Malone College Saturday afternoon in Chandler, Arizona.

Madonna dropped game one of the day, 3-2, in extra innings after rallying to tie the game late.  Will Kennedy (Westland, Mich.) started and went the first seven innings, but took the loss.

Pat Kenny (Utica, Mich.) and Zack McMillin (Grand Ledge, Mich.) each posted a pair of hits to lead the MU offensive attack.

In the nightcap, the MU bats responded to the warm weather, posting a 12-2 victory.  Sean Maher picked up the win, moving to 2-0 on the young season.

Kenny launched his third home run of the season while McMillin and Rikco Rhoades (White Lake, Mich.) each had a pair of hits and a RBI.  Freshman catcher Tarik Khasawneh (Canton, Mich.) went two-for-three with a pair of RBIs.

The Crusaders are back in action Sunday, when they face Montana State Billings in a 1:00 pm (MT) start.
