BOX SCORE

BATTLE CREEK, Mich.
The Madonna baseball team dug a big hole in day one of the NAIA Region VIII tournament in Battle Creek, Michigan, falling 14-2 to Indiana Tech.

In a game that was shortened due to the 10-run rule, Madonna mustered just five hits off Tech starter Marcus White (10-0) and allowed 15 Warrior hits, knocking MU starter Eric Wending from the game after five-and-two-thirds.

The Crusaders runs came courtesy of RBI base hits from Kyle Fedorka and Garrett Ignasiak.

Madonna now falls to the losers bracket where they will face 4-seed Bethel College (Ind.) at 11:00 am Thursday.  The Pilots were first day victims of top-seed Spring Arbor, 4-0 in the first game of the day Wednesday.

A victory by MU tomorrow will send them to a 5:00 pm game versus the winner of Spring Arbor and Indiana Tehch
